about this campaign

The Recall David Eby Campaign is a grassroots, community-driven effort based in the Vancouver-Point Grey electoral district. Our work is fueled by residents who believe their MLA should be transparent, accountable, and willing to engage openly with the people he represents.

During the 2024 provincial election, David Eby ran as a BC NDP candidate and was elected as Premier. However, his tenure has been marred by significant controversies and failures, particularly in public safety, where his initial decriminalization pilot allowed open drug use in public spaces, leading to widespread chaos, increased crime, and a surge in overdose deaths before he flip-flopped and rolled back key aspects of the policy. Critics have also highlighted his blunders in handling the housing crisis by overriding local governance and NIMBY opposition through controversial legislation that faced court rebukes, inadequate consultation on bills like Bill 15 that undermined Indigenous rights and reconciliation efforts, and a broader failure to manage healthcare and environmental issues effectively, resulting in declining public support and polls showing three-quarters of British Columbians believe the province is on the wrong track. Eby has further avoided full accountability by limiting engagement in public debates and media scrutiny, restricting voters' ability to fully grasp the impacts of his positions.

This campaign brings together community members who are concerned about these actions and want to ensure that their elected representative reflects the values, rights, and diversity of the region. We are committed to building a strong, well-organized volunteer network ahead of the earliest date a recall application can be filed: April 20, 2026.
Once Elections BC approves a recall petition, we will have only 60 days to collect more than 13,952 valid signatures from registered voters in the district. Achieving this requires substantial preparation, broad participation, and a coordinated team ready to mobilize the moment approval is granted.

Together, we are working to ensure accountability in public office and to uphold the principles of inclusion, transparency, and respectful community representation.
